Green Works Commenced

At 10:00 am today, Chris and Riley from Greentek commenced work on the green. Initially, they are filling in the divots on rinks 1 and 6. Then, tomorrow, they will scarify and clean the green. Secondary backup work will be done in September so that it is up and firing for the upcoming 26/27 Pennant Season. Update: The works have been finished consisting of divot filling, seam adhesion, weed spray and softener application and scarification of the green. Approximately 2 big bins worth of debris has been removed from the green's surface. Preliminary bowls testing on all rinks has been very positive. A torrential downpour last Saturday afternoon did not result in the usual dirt, requiring brushing, rising to the top of the green. That is a very comforting consequence of the benefits of the work having being done. Give it a go yourselves when you have time and admire the new, slightly different appearance of the green. You may find that it is somewhat narrower and slower due to the surface pile being raised by the process.
